About United Way Kolkata: United Way Kolkata (UWK) is a non-profit organisation that endeavours to leverage corporate, employee and leadership talent for community development. Through corporate donations and fundraising events, UWK seeks to successfully engage the corporate sector into meaningful Social Responsibility structures bringing about a positive and lasting change in the communities. UWK is a chapter of United Way Worldwide, which tops the list of the world’s 15 largest charities.

United Way is an international social change movement to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.  It has a global network of more than 1400 United Ways in 41 countries that work to advance the common good of communities focused on education, income and health. These are the building blocks for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. Kolkata is the youngest United Way chapter in India, being only 4 years old.
